Nvidia began rolling out its In AMD's case, the company claims its That's based on internal testing using a Radeon RX It's not clear what kind of performance gains owners of other Radeon GPUs can expect, but a 13 percent hike in framerates at the top end is not too shabby, provided that extends beyond AMD's own labs.

The release notes also point to a bunch of known issues, including one that affects RX owners who have enabled FreeSync on a Hz display. In such cases, stuttering can occur. I'm wondering how lowering the resolution and relying on RIS works for p - or more specifically x, which shares p's DPI but is getting on toward 4K resolution in sheer number of pixels to push. I know I'm not alone in asking this having seen this question posed and go unanswered elsewhere.

Learn how to collaborate with Office I need to be able to point ReShade to the full game path game executeable so it can run. Did this solve your problem? Yes No.

Sorry this didn't help. To try this you'd need to un-hide the WindowsApps folder and take ownership of said folder to see the files contained within. After that you should be able to find the Metro Exodus game exe file and point your graphics card sharpening tool to the game executable.

Best to create a system restore before changing folder ownership. And be warned, you do this at your own risk. That's why I am here asking about it.

In regards to "ReShade" being added to the Microsoft Store, even if the app was added, there is no guarantee that there would be support to apply this to any and all titles.

That is to say that it is not possible to get the app on the Store. From our end, we do not currently have any troubleshooting techniques to provide for you in using third party applications to enhance your game. I would recommend instead to try creating a post in the ReShade Forumsas they would be much better equipped for assisting you in seeking a favorable solution. Thank you kindly for responding.

Those are very useful articles. I pushed with my attempt to gain accest to the Metro executeable.Tuesday, October 29th You can now use the two together to make the input latency "cost" of G-Sync practically "free. You can't use custom ReShade filters in competitive games, but can use some official ReShade filters. Nice new features. Good to see Image Sharpening supports DX11 games as well, and directly toggle in control panel.

Very nice. Now they just have to work on that awful DPC latency their drivers have, would be amazing to get that fixed. Hmm still not fixed Nvidia experience automatically downloaded this driver even thou i have automatic driver downloads disabled in geforce experience.

I do like the focus on lowering latency, now let's lower the latency in game engines and the OS next. But naming this feature "NULL"? Is this a joke from the development team or something? I guess if it causes any segmentation faults they can call it a "feature". I don't understand these notes about GPU upscaling. Is this talking about a replacement for that scaling? Another, higher quality option? I actually don't have any issues with the current scaling so I'm hoping that they did not force this new behavior as it seems to be limited to below px right now.

It's bad enough that sometimes the GPU scaling option breaks from update to update, but now maybe they just ruined it for me altogether? Not cool. I'll check after work and see if this is actually something separate from the long-available scaling option. GPU scaling is not available in laptops with Nvidia Optimus switchable graphics.

Very nice, i'll grab them and enjoy image sharpening on my apparently abandoned Maxwell card.Log in or Sign up. Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition These features now offer audible indicators only when activated or deactivated via hotkey.

The Radeon ReLive on screen timer indicator during recordings has been disabled by default but can be enabled in Radeon Software settings. Controls for vertical sync may be hidden or disappear when Radeon Enhanced Sync is enabled. Radeon ReLive may experience freezing or pausing issues during recordings when a high resolution camera is connected and in use. Radeon Software may close or may experience a crash upon resuming from sleep. Using a custom stream key with Radeon ReLive may fail to stream your content.

A workaround if you are experiencing this issue is to lower your displays refresh rate. The scrolling arrow options may intermittently fail to work during Radeon Software installation.

Known Issues The Radeon Software Overlay hotkey notification may sometimes be displayed during video playback in web browsers or launching some video player applications. Factory Reset install may keep previously configured Radeon Software game profiles.

This can cause mismatch between global graphics settings and per profile settings.

Text overflow in some UI boxes or toast messages may be experienced in some language localizations. Radeon Software may open with an inconsistent size or may not keep its previously set size when opened. Integer Scaling may cause some video content to show flicker when the display resolution is set to less than native resolution. But, good grief, the previous drivers had issues. It seems that they really are paying more attention, as Steve from GN said they told him. MerolaCJan 10, Recently Nvidia rolled out a major GeForce driver update which was presented at Gamescomversion Other new features include GPU integer scaling, which is fantastic for retro gaming and pixel art games. We have bit color support, also introduced to a recent Nvidia Studio driver.

We have more G-Sync Compatible monitors. The first is a new ultra-low latency option. Low Latency modes have the most impact when your game is GPU bound, and framerates are between 60 and FPS, enabling you to get the responsiveness of high-framerate gaming without having to decrease graphical fidelity.

Basically the same as Anti-Lag. This can reduce input lag by nearly one full frame in best case scenarios. The bigger addition to this new driver is a new Freestyle Sharpening Filter. But Nvidia has revamped their sharpening option available through Freestyle. What is the performance impact like? And does this make DLSS completely obsolete? That last one will be very, very interesting as we go through some of the testing.

Freestyle article. These settings are saved on an individual game basis. RIS is a single, global toggle that applies to all games with the same strength. There is no slider for optimizing the filter, and it cannot be enabled on a per-game basis.

This may be one of the major flaws to RIS, because some games require more sharpening than others, and in some games you may not want sharpening at all. Metro, which we believe uses TAA for anti-aliasing and has no fine control over the setting, is slightly blurry by default.

The new Freestyle sharpening filter cleans all of this up, especially in the map area with its fine lines, without introducing noticeable haloing around text elements. It also handles the purposefully blurry text on the CRT screen well. Both modes have strength sliders, but these flaws seem to be consistent across the strength ranges. In the Metro Exodus menu here, the handling of the menu text, the map, other textures, the CRT screen and so on are very close to identical, if not identical.

However to my eyes, the default settings in this game are a little too sharp. In this game, DLSS is very blurry and miles behind the native 4K image, whereas the resolution scaled then sharpened image gets pretty close to native, if a little behind in super-fine detail.

But again, the downsampled to 0. Here, the sharpened version gets very close to the native 4K presentation, whereas DLSS looks a bit weird, which is an artefact of its deep learning reconstruction technique.

If you zoom into some of the areas like rocks or grass with lots of fine detail, the differences are highlighted. The next step is to look at performance. However, the new Freestyle filter is a noticeable improvement over the old mode. Where the older Freestyle filter tanked performance, dropping the average frame rate in this game by 12 percent, the new filter is more manageable.

A six percent drop, which is exactly half the impact as Nvidia stated it would be, is much better and turns out to only be a few FPS in most cases. In our opinion these results show that DLSS is dead in the water.RIS is an intelligent contrast-adaptive sharpening algorithm that brings crispness and clarity to in-game visuals that have been softened by other post-process effects, with virtually no impact on gaming performance.

AMD continues to democratize access to cutting-edge technology. From first time mainstream gamers to those looking for the best experiences in AAA p gaming, the Radeon RX and series GPUs that now offer RIS allow gamers to immerse themselves in hyper-real, complex visual worlds while maintaining fluid framerates. AMD is currently also looking into supporting the VEga series.

Polaris got it because the amount of people who have one vs the Vega is prolly 4 to 1 plus vega is twice as fast on average.

Navi got it, well cause its the new toy. I know this is AMD's official position but I think they should just be honest and say "we don't have the resources to bring this to all our GPUs at once so we are rolling it out based on number of users effected".

Especially when Vega has been screwed out of multiple features now. Reardan Senior Member Posts: Joined: Of course you'll never see the numbers of people who want it, there's no official mechanism to gauge the interest, no declared channel through which someone should let them know that they want it AMD has basically told Vega owners to talk to the void and maybe they'll listen, leaving AMD to simply say at the end of it that there "Just wasn't enough interest" and no ability to dispute it.
